About DATA
The Drug Abuse Treatment Association, Inc. [DATA] was formed in l980 by
the consolidation of the Area Drug Abuse Council [ADAC] and [LINK,
Inc.], two agencies that had existed and provided substance abuse
services in Palm Beach County since l966. DATA is a private
non-profit corporation, which is classified by the Internal Revenue
Service as a charitable tax exempt organization under Section
501(c)(3) of the IRS code. A similar tax exempt designation has been
made by the State of Florida. In l985, DATA opened an 18-bed coed
adolescent residential substance abuse treatment center in West Palm
Beach. Since that time, DATA has opened many programs that fit on
the continuum of substance abuse and delinquency treatment services.
